Compiler of the Maddox Family History. Graduated from Warren High School, Vincent, Ohio in 1964. Entered the U. S. Navy in 1965; attended Medical Corpsman School at the Great Lakes Naval Command; assigned to the National Naval Air Station, Washington D. C. and the National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Maryland, where he was senior corpsman of Ward 4-D, a cardiology and burn facility; in 1970 assigned to the U. S. S. Borie, DD-704 out of Norfolk, Virginia for two weeks reserve training; went to reserve status and was discharged in February 1971. Joined the Marietta Police Department in June 1969, trained at Case Western Reserve University, and was promoted to investigator (detective) in 1976, working mostly felony cases.

Married at the Vincent United Methodist Church by Rev. Charles Eaton, Jr., Norma's uncle. Built two family history websites with his son Zachary as webmaster. As of the document's writing the family resides on the Maddox Family Farm in the Barlow area of Washington County, Ohio. Obituary (The Times Leader, Martins Ferry, Ohio, 8 June 2005, reproduced on his Find a Grave memorial): Rodney Carl Maddox, 58, of Vincent, died at 9:50 p.m. on Monday, 6 June 2005, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

A 1964 graduate of Warren High School, he served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam era, worked as a patrol officer and a detective for the Marietta Police Department from 1969 to 1980, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, genealogy and gardening. Survived by his parents of Vincent; his wife Norma Lee Eaton Maddox, whom he married on 21 June 1969; his son Zachary and daughter Danielle, both of the home; and his brother Jerrold Maddox (Jennifer) of Vincent. Funeral 9 June 2005 at the Barlow Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, Pastor Rick Miracle officiating; burial with full military honors in Barlow Central Cemetery. His Find a Grave memorial records the gravestone inscription US NAVY.

Named as a predeceased son in his father Carl Owen Maddox's 2009 obituary and his mother Edna Lucille Maddox's 2012 obituary, and as a predeceased nephew in Esther “Betty” (Wise) Maddox's 2012 obituary.

• Rodney Carl Maddox 11 was the first born son of Carl Owen 10 and Edna L. (Ingraham) Maddox, born 13 July 1946 at Marietta, Washington County, Ohio. Rodney graduated from Warren High School, Vincent, Washington County, Ohio in 1964.
