Peter Romine

Isa Pearl Hazen's 1947 report says Peter and Mary Molly (Maddox) Romine traveled west with their family, reaching Parkersville (now Parkersburg) on 24 December 1812.

The source names a father, Peter Romine, Sr., and a mother, Ruth Burson — not yet part of the connected tree.

• Mary Molly Maddox 5 (1776/1777-1 July 1858) was the first-born child of Matthew, Sr 4. and Rachel (Bonnifield) Maddox. Mary married Peter Romine in 1796 in Harrison County, Virginia (WV). Mary and Peter moved to Wood County, Virginia (WV) and remained in the county until their deaths. Their children were Joseph Romine, born, 1802, Roswel Romine, John Romine born, 1809, Samuel Romine (1806-1888), James Romine (1813-1892), Mary Ann Romine (1821-1894), Matthias Romine, Matika Romine, born, 1810 and Thomas Romine (1815-1902). Mary (Maddox) Romine and Peter Romine are buried in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Lubeck District, Wood County, West Virginia. Several of their descendants (Romine) still live in Wood County, West Virginia.

• Another deed of interest was found in Deed Book 3, page 76, dated 20 November 1797 in the Harrison County, Virginia (WV) Deed Books. In this deed, Peter Romine bought 80 acres of land for $200.00 on the right hand fork of Hastings Run, just west of Romine Mills. Hastings Run enters Rooting Creek. This land was very close to the land purchased by Matthew and Rozzel Maddox in the 1807 deed. Peter Romine married Mary Molly Maddox in 1796 in Harrison County, Virginia (WV).

• Matthew and Rachel lived with their son Thomas Maddox until the death of Rachel on 5 January 1826. After that, Matthew lived with his oldest child, Mary Molly (Maddox) Romine and husband Peter Romine until Matthew died on 1 January 1831.
