A 2002 supplement reports Civil War-era militia service with his brothers Lewis Monroe and William McAtee, but the unit and allegiance claim has not been corroborated and remains a research lead (see source_conflicts).

• A 2002 supplement reports that Rufus Putnam Ingraham and his brothers Lewis Monroe and William McAtee appeared as 'Ingram' in rosters associated with Wood County's 113th Regiment of militia during the Civil War era. The supplement calls it West Virginia Union militia service, but that characterization has not been corroborated: the 113th designation belonged to the Virginia militia, and no matching federal service record was found in the reviewed index. The claim remains a research lead rather than a documented service fact.

  The alternate day and month duplicate Rufus and Eliza's marriage date and appear to be a copying error, but both readings are retained pending an original record.

• Civil War militia service — Reported as enlisted Union militiamen in the 113th Regiment, West Virginia Militia (Supplemental: Ingraham Family in the American Civil War, transcript lines 8–16) · Not corroborated as federal Union service; 113th was a Wood County Virginia militia designation (Review of the National Park Service Civil War Soldiers and Sailors unit index and Virginia militia references, 2 August 2026) — the chronicle uses unverified research lead.
