Rozzel Maddox 5, son of Matthew Maddox, Sr. 4 and Rachel (Bonnifield) Maddox was born 1781, married 11 October 1807 to Mary Posey in Wood County, Virginia (now West Virginia) and died in 1869 in Centerville, Iowa. Rozzell Maddox 5 and Mary (Posey) Maddox had the following children, Jesse Maddox 6 (16 September 1808-30 December 1874), married 30 June 1831 to Rebecca Davis, Lucinda Maddox 6 (1810-1896) who married Asa Dudley, Verlinda Maddox 6 born 1813, married 4 July 1834 to Jacob Whetsel, Harriet Maddox 6 born 1815, married 11 March 1833 to Joseph Delay, Eliza Louisa Maddox 6 born 1817, married 19 September 1823 to Andrew Lewis, Rozzel Maddox, Jr. 6 (1818-1905), married 22 February 1840 to Mary Ann Nickell, Hannah Maddox 6 born 1821, married 31 August 1842 to George L. Vance, Arnold Maddox 6 (1823-1880), married 13 June 1844 to Eliza Brown, Catherine Maddox 6 born 1827, married 25 February 1849 to Noah Stover and Susannah Maddox 6 born 1829, married 8 October 1848 to James Ellis.
