The son, James Gaston Maddox 6, son of William 5 and Sarah (Gaston) Maddox was born 17 November 1823 in Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia), married Flora Ann Hill (3 November 1828-10 March 1911) and James Gaston Maddox 6 died 3 January 1901 in Jackson County, West Virginia. James and Flora are buried in the Grass Lick Baptist Church Cemetery in Jackson County, West Virginia. The children of James Gaston Maddox 6 and Flora Ann (Hill) Maddox are, William H. Maddox 7 (23 March 1850-14-March 1918), married 26 February 1875 to Martha Columbia Corbin, Alonzo T. Maddox 7 (1854-1928) who married Alice J. Corbin, Mansfield Maddox 7 (27 May 1857-8 August 1899), married 26 January 1882 to Nancy Bell Parsons, Lycurgus Maddox, 7 (5 December 1858-?), married 22 April 1886 to Luella Jane Morrison and Irving Thomas Maddox 7 (1863-1951) who married Ida Alice Lee.
