Alfred Alpheous Maddox 5, son of Matthew Maddox, Sr. 4 and Rachel (Bonnifeild) Maddox was born 1 November 1792 in Harrison County, Virginia (now West Virginia), married 17 November 1814 in Harrison County, Virginia to Hannah Cassandra Barnes (1791-19 April 1853). Alfred Alpheous Maddox 5 died 13 August 1848 in Adams County, Ohio. The children of Alfred Alpheous Maddox 5 and Hannah Cassandra (Barnes) Maddox were, Rachel Lovina Maddox 6 (1821-1903), married 2 March 1843 to Jeremiah Gatlin, Mary Maddox 6 (30 March 1831-31 December 1861), Carolina Maddox 6 born 3 October 1841, married a James Metcalf, Emaline Maddox 6 born 19 July 1838, married 1 August 1861 in Brownsville, Kansas to Robert F. McReynolds, Matthew Maddox 6 (14 February 1829-28 January 1890, married 23 February 1860 to Elizabeth Jane Marshall (married in Wood County, Virginia), Harrison Maddox 6 (19 February 1819-25 October 1882), married 30 August 1838 in Wood County, Virginia to Mary Maddox, Hannah Maddox 6 born 14 December 1819, Cassandra Maddox 6 born 20 February 1827, married 14 October 1852 in Wood County, Virginia to John Posey, Sallie Maddox 6 born 27 July 1824, married 14 January 1849 to Levi Shaffer or Sheffler, Alpheous Maddox, Jr. 6 (29 January 1822-23 April 1846), Amy Maddox 6 (13 July 1833-13 January 1840), Eleanor Maddox 6 (3 November 1815-1882), married 13 December 1833 to Amos Gulick and Israel Maddox 6 (9 January 1836-29 November 1923, married 4 July 1876 to Emily Amanda Gilpin.
